With a family history of kidney disease, Don grew up well aware of the struggles and challenges that he would face in his own journey.
Despite this, he struggled through the process of kidney failure and dialysis. Through some heartfelt soul searching he discovered the importance of having a gracious and positive view of the life-saving equipment and procedures that he once considered tedious and cumbersome.
After having this change of perspective, Don began attending support groups and naturally became a mentor to others.
Don’s goal is to change, as he says, “a lot of bad experiences… [into] good experiences” by passing forward his experiential knowledge.
To do this he founded the Road Back to Life in hopes that he could gather other passionate people with kidney disease and start changing perspectives on a larger scale.
